It was an absolutely perfect day today for working outside. When I woke up this morning and saw the sun shining I was up and ready to go to work. I way over-did it, too. My feet and legs are hurting and my back is a little sore but I can always stand this kind of ache.

I dug up a big wheelbarrow load of irises out of my lily bed to give them more room to grow. I plan on taking the rest of the irises out so I can plant the new calla lilies I am going to buy. Cara and I decided on red ones, they will look beautiful next to the white and red lilies that are already in that bed. I may go ahead and buy a couple of the black ones, too.

I took the irises and threw them in a ditch - sounds cruel, I know but they will live.

I dug up some of the narcissus that need to be thinned and put them in a hole that needed to be filled in on the bank of the little pond.

I did some mowing, I walked my trails and did some trimming (so miss em doesn't get slapped by branches when we ride).

I peeked under the pool cover and decided that could wait for another time... oh, my.

I spent a lot of time just sitting, sitting on the big bench up front, sitting on the little bench by the studio, laying on the freshly mowed grass to see how wonderful it felt with the sun and wind gently caressing my skin.. makes me feel young for some reason. Maybe it is the sensory memory thing of playing in the grass. But, for whatever reason it felt really good.

I'm sad though that I have no morel mushrooms this year :( haven't seen a one.

Tomorrow is our monthly trip to Sam's. I think I will spring for Olive Garden tomorrow, it's been a while since we have been there.

Okay I'm off to facebook a while.

Love you

Laying in the grass makes me feel young too. :)
It was a beautiful day here. I have so much work to do with the flower garden and yard that I don't know where to start.
