What a strange 24 hours it has been here...

The band rolled in in their tour bus at about 5:00 yesterday afternoon, after they got hooked up they needed to take a supper break. They got started working in the studio about 6:00. Not long afterwards one of them got a call that we were under tornado watch (oh yeah, it's starting already)which immediately sets everyone on edge.
You know how animals get more active when a thunderstorm is approaching - it effects me the same way.
And, my poor crazy Mother, someone called her to warn her about the watch and she was just freaking out. I had to run her off from the studio three times before I finally got her settled down.
That's just what Mark needed, his crazy mother-in-law coming in the studio ranting and raving while he's busy working with new people.

After I finally got Mother settled down, I went in and watched "Man of the Year" (pretty good movie - nothing like what I expected, but, good). I went to bed about 11:30 expecting that Mark would be working late.

I woke up at 12:30 and he still wasn't in the house, ok.

and neither was Seth (or so I thought).

The storm hit at about 2:00. I got up checked on Emily. She was so upset because her Daddy never came in to tuck her in. Got her some juice and got her back to sleep. I decided to lay on the sofa a while and watch the weather channel until I fell back asleep.

I was really getting pissed because Mark and Seth had not come in. But, I was too sleepy to be too mad.

I woke up at 4:45 and was really mad. I put on my jacket, braved the storm and went after Seth...... only for Mark and the guys to look at me like I was a crazy woman because Seth had left the studio at midnight. Being half asleep and more than half mad, I argued with them that I never heard him come in.

Well, I didn't hear him. :(

Sure enough, there he was, sound asleep in his bed upstairs.

When Mark did come in at about 10:00 this morning he told me that about 11:30 last night one of the guys got a call telling him a family member had been taken to the hospital in Norman. He asked Mark if they could work through the night to get finished so he could leave early this morning. That's why they worked all night long.

Surprisingly to everyone, the CD sounds really good. Mark's talent kicked in when his ears were too tired to hear correctly and he did a great job.

So, we have napped off and on all day adding to the weirdness of the strange hours and weather. Hopefully, tomorrow will be more normal. I like normal.
