Seth reminded me yesterday that it has been a while since we had anyone out to eat with us. He is a people person, like his Dad. So, we called up some friends and made plans for Sunday evening.
My favorite part of any occasion is the planning stage. Seth and I tossed around ideas for supper and came up with a spring/Easter type meal of ham, potato salad, deviled eggs, green bean salad and banana pudding for dessert. yummy.
Mark is a little nervous about the band coming in tonight. They are a bluegrass band, signed to a major label. They do most of their recording in Nashville but the band has been a little unhappy with the fact that when they record in Nashville the label insists that they use studio musicians instead of their regular guys which to me is just stupid because they will sound so much different live than they do on their CD's. The label agreed to let them come here to record as a band.
I have no idea why he is nervous about it, probably because he is afraid they will be hard to deal with and he just doesn't like confrontation of any kind.
I've been working outside all day. I tilled my garden this morning just to work in some of the leaves and hay that have been composting on it all winter long. Then it took me an hour to clean up the tiller. I love the smell of freshly turned dirt. About the middle of March I can go ahead and plant a few things like peas, potatoes, green onions, radishes.
Then I got out the chainsaw and cut some trumpet vines and a couple of small trees that were blocking our walking trail thru the woods. Seth helped me cut up a couple of big limbs that fell during the ice storm. Now all I have to do is move them to the burn pile.
And, we finally got around to picking up the trash off of the right-of-way. It makes me so angry that people are such pigs, that they think nothing of throwing their nasty trash in our yard.
Levi called earlier, he was in shock. He had gone to pay the excise tax and tag for his new truck - - $700.00. Ought to be a law against that kind of robbery.
I have "Man of the Year" to watch tonight. I hope it is as funny as I think it is going to be.
I'm going to make our favorite pasta salad for supper and invite Levi and Christi to come eat and watch the movie.
What do you guys have planned for your weekend?

Ahh the weekend. I have to work half of it, but that's nothing new. The weather here has been lovely. If it's still this nice on Sunday, I would like to go for a picnic.
Nasty taxes!
I've got a few plans, but the funnest thing is yoga. :)
Aola, it sounds like you have jumped two months ahead of us! Easter food... tilling the garden... waaaaah! I want spring to be here. :(
