an issue of the heart
I am pretty sure, well, I am almost certain that I have congestive heart failure and before you yell at me I will tell you that I am not going to the doctor. I know exactly what he would say...lose 50 pounds... exercise... limit your salt and fluids.. take an aspirin every day.
As sad as it is in a country like America, the thing I worry about the most is getting sick and not being able to afford proper care and I will do everything I can to not bankrupt my family.
So, I am trying, once again, to better control my diet. I am walking every day. I am taking supplements. I have cut way back (on my way to completely doing away with) on the pretzels :) and even limiting fluids... (BOO on that one).
In a few weeks I am going to go to the clinic and have a blood test for anemia... that is the easiest (and cheapest) thing I can do to try to find out exactly what is causing my heart to race and pound like it does.
We will go from there.

I guess that's the best thing you can do.
I'm not a "run-to-the-doctor" for everything person either, but I think you'll know when/if you need to go. Don't do anything too rash, okay, and know the signs for a heart attack, etc. Love you!
If Mark, Levi, Seth or Em were sick, you'd insist on them getting treatment no matter what.
I think you deserve the same courtesy.
A- It is beyond me that certain types have fooled most of the American people into thinking that health care for profit is a necessary idea to maintain freedom. I am sorry you don't have health care, and I don't know what I would do in your situation. I'm so sorry you feel the need to make this choice. And I will hold you in the Light as you try to make these changes in your life.
I will do all that I can to "fix" this myself. I read a ridiculous amount of information on health issues. I know several people with the same issue that are seeing a doctor so I have some insight into what they would or would not do. And, I promise if it doesn't get better or if it gets worse I will seek professional help.
I looked myself in the mirror this morning and asked me what I was going to do... "are you going to lay down and die or are you going to do something about this?"
I put my shoes on and walked my mile.
I agree with Cara 100%.
There are a variety of programs to help pay for your bill and many doctors/hospitals adjust their fees based on your ability to pay. Even if none of that were true, it's only money and we are talking about your life! I am sure that any of your children and your husband would much rather be in debt and have you here with them.
If it is congestive heart failure you have a better chance of saving money by taking the appropriate steps now rather than waiting until it is an emergency situation.
Yes, diet and exercise will help, but other steps may need to be taken. Given your family history, you may need medical intervention. I know you know this.
What would you do if money were not an issue? Whatever your answer to that question should be what you do. I'll start taking up donations if need be!
Did some reading on congestive heart failure last night. That is some serious business. I wanted to let you know I am concerned with you. That's all.
