The hardest lessons in life to learn or to teach are life lessons. How to allow your innocent, never even been kissed, son to be free to be around things and people he has never experienced. Dope smokers. Drunks. Wild women. How for me to teach him and him to learn about balance, moderation. How to teach him that a little freedom is not bad but doing things that would hurt yourself or others is. How to teach him to accept other people and their behavior and not be judgmental.
Ahh... still the letting go. Knowing that he is going to make mistakes, maybe even really big, really stupid mistakes. Trying not to be over-protective but still supportive and strong for him.
It, my friends, is a tigt-rope walk.

He is well equipped. He has the strength that only comes from a strong loving family. He has the comfort of parents who will tell him straight, and who he can confide in. He has the good and bad examples of others close to him as lessons in life.
He is blessed.
what would I do without you?
You are doing all this with a lot of grace, A.
It is so tough. We're just in the beginning stages with Erin and giving her that space to mess up is so tough. Knowing that they probably will mess up and knowing there isn't much you can do about it is heart wrenching!
Seth is an amazing young man, and you've done an amazing job.
