Just thought I would write about what is going on in our lives today... most people say they don't like that kind of blog writing, that blogs should be about bigger issues or more important stuff, but, I really like to read about what is going on in your lives.

Movies - we watched Fame last weekend and loved it. Good movies about music always fire us up (since music is our business). I have Once to watch this weekend while Mark is away. Emily and I watched Where the Wild Things Are last night - not sure how I felt about this movie. It is sweet and full of meaning. It is done beautifully but it left me feeling kind of sad.. which maybe was the point. I dunno, when you watch it you can tell me how you felt about it.

We are watching the second season of Heroes and loving it. Waiting for the next seasons of NCIS, Smallville, and Supernatural to come out on DVD so we can continue them.

I am reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, can't believe I've never read it before. After reading so many juvenile books lately it is nice to read something by someone who can really write. Levi, Christi and I are reading the Percy Jackson series but we are having trouble getting the last book.

It looks and feels like maybe, just maybe, winter is coming to an end. We have had several days in a row of sun.. Hallelujah! There are spring flowers coming up everywhere and the temperature is slowly rising. It is supposed to be 63 degree today, the warmest we have seen in a long while.

Mark met the guy who owns the Arbuckle Ballroom through working for him one night and they hit it off. Looks like he will be doing all their sound teching from now on. They had been using a big production company out of OKC but were not happy with them. This is good news for us. It meant that Seth didn't have to go out and find a job. The Arbuckle Ballroom is the largest and busiest dance club within 100 miles of here.

Other aspects of our business(es) seem to be picking up, slowly. Once we recover from the winter slump we should be fine.

Seth has a new girlfriend which makes me happy for several reasons. The first girl was playing him and his best buddy but they both knew it and didn't let it effect their friendship. And, it tells me he was not too serious about her in the first place. Sometimes those teenage relationships get way too serious way too quickly. It is fun to see him excited about meeting someone new and all that goes with that. I'm so glad that he talks to me about what is going on in his life.

Emily is sick again... has yet another sinus infection and is on a new antibiotic. Just as we were getting ready to leave for town yesterday she started throwing up and I had to make her stay home. She was not happy with me!! to say the least. The girl does love her shopping trips.

Levi and Christi have been doing some redecorating at their house and lots of cleaning. They bought a new area rug , sofa, and entertainment center for the living room. It looks so nice.
He continues to wow them at work and soon will be on the "manager track". There is talk of moving him to a new department to whip it into shape but nothing concrete yet. He makes me proud.

Zoe Beth.... ah, Zoe Beth. My favorite subject :) 16 months old, can you believe it? She is starting to put together sentences, short ones, of course but it is so cute. She has pretty much weaned herself from breast and bottle and now just uses a cup. The girl love her drink!! She has become a picky, picky eater. She will like something one time and the next time you fix it, she spits it out? She can tell you where eyes, nose, ears and belly are... blinks eyes, sniffs, pulls ears, tickles belly. She is showing signs of potty training readiness, I think it is going to be easy to train her. She loves, loves, loves her Aunty Em. She is not a very lovable kid, pretty stingy with hugs and almost never gives kisses (to anyone but Mommy and Daddy) except for Em. Every night she just hugs and pats Emily, loves on her, kisses her cheeks, pats her bottom when she comes up behind her. The cutest thing is she goes back to Em's room and sits in the floor in front of Em's chair and watches TV with Emily (and plays with Em's toes) This tells me a lot about what her character will be. She is a stinker!!

So, there's my newsy update. I'll be by your blogs later to see what you guys are doing......

Not boring in the least. I love reading your updates. It makes me feel connected even though I live so far away.

Zoe seems to be one smart cookie! I'd love for her and Hayden to meet. I think we'd be in for some trouble. :)

I hope Em feels better soon.

I agree...definitely not boring! I just feel like I have nothing to say on my blog. I'll see if I can come up with something in case you stop by :)

I go from Kristen's blog to yours, to Sandy's, to Missi's, etc. I like to know what's going on with your everyday lives.

Thank you, Jeanne, for not throwing some Christian catch-all phrase at me... I appreciate you just caring. It means much more to me.

I love love love your news updates.

I've not read The Bell Jar and I have been wanting to read some good writing so thanks for mentioning that.

Your boys sound so amazing. And, of course, I love the stories of Zoe and Emily.

Hearing about Emily through a parents perspective helps give me understanding of my parents and what they felt raising my sister, who is severely disabled from RA and has been since she was 6.

I may never meet you face to face but your writing sure impacts my heart.

I like reading your updates, too, Aola. (Time for one on my blog.) Damn, Zoe is sooo smart (and adorable and sweet)! Reminds me of a 21 month old I know. Heh.
