The rain just keeps coming at perfect intervals, the ground was dry enough to hoe this morning and it rained tonight... grow, tomatoes, grow!
I am re-reading The Half Blood Prince since the movie is coming out next month. I started on my paperback copy today and quickly realized I was not going to be able to handle the small print so I ran to the little Allen library and picked up a hard copy (was actually surprised they had it).
Last time we were at Sams Club I picked up a copy of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and have it waiting to be read when I finish. I finished Ridin' the Moon in Texas by Ntozake Shange... some of it I liked, some I didn't, some I just don't get?? poetry to me sometimes seems like the author just took a bunch of pretty words and threw them together and they make no sense whatsoever.
I like to read when the weather gets too hot to enjoy being outside which it hasn't yet.
We received an invitation to a "hog roast". Now, doesn't that just sound like an Okie kind of thing to do? I am sooo looking forward to it. Our friends Richard and Rhonda (aka Superwoman) Wilson are hosting. They have dug a pit and are having a hog killed to put in it. The guests are to bring sides and drinks. I am taking cole slaw, black bean and corn salad, banana pudding (and not just any ol' banana pudding) and drinks. I might need to cook up a pot of red beans too. I even bought a new OU cooler to put the drinks in... I am ALL Okie!!
We watched Mall Cop this weekend and liked it. I have Bride Wars now. We are watching NCIS season three every night, we ration ourselves to one episode per night :) I have a whole list of movies I need to get on my queue - Public Enemy, Gran Tornino, and on and on.
I am going in now to play 10,000 with the fam. It is almost a nightly ritual. It is Ms Em's favorite family game (she beats us almost every time!)
good night

That sounds wonderful... I wish I was your next door neighbor.
I love a good pig roast! My grandma's brother used to have one every year, but I'm not sure if he still does it or not.
What's the banana pudding? I haven't had banana pudding in years!
We thought Mall Cop was pretty funny. It was a good family movie.
David has Grand Torino. We'll probably watch it this weekend and I have Hotel For Dogs just because I wanted to smile. :)
