Friday already! Life just flashes by. It's hard sometimes to slow down long enough to breath and enjoy it.

The guys just took off with the PA, headed south of Ada to Fossil Creek Ranch to set up for a party tonight. We are doing the CD release party for one of our signed bands, Lauren Lee & Liberty Road. This is their second CD. Emily and I will leave here about five o'clock so we can hang out a little before the concert begins.

My garden is growing and looks really pretty right now (there are no weeds to speak of.. yet)We need rain but I hope it holds off until after the concert tonight.

When Mark first came to Ada,twenty-eight years ago,not long after he started going to church he got hurt and a couple in the church took him in to live with them. They just happened to be my sister's brother and sister-in-law - Rick and Wanda Newlund. Wanda died a couple of weeks ago and we got a call last night that Rick was in the hospital and not expected to live. They are in their 80's so it is not unexpected but still sad to see such wonderful people go.

Nothing much new going on around here. KP & Southern Rain are finally getting some doors opened in the Tulsa area. We've been trying to get into some bars up there for a while and it looks like it is going to happen.

The one bar we really want to get into is The Wormy Dog in Oklahoma City but so far we haven't been able to do it. It is the place to be for red dirt musicians, it's like once you get in at the Wormy Dog, you are IN. We won't give up though.

It is all of a sudden very hot and humid in Oklahoma... I try not to turn on the AC until late May or June but if it keeps this up I'm not sure I'll make it that long.

Think I will go facebook and minute and then go read.

Hope you guys have a good weekend... anything special planned?

Mom just told me about Wanda. I was very sad to hear it and the news about Rick saddens me just as much. They were amazing people. I remember being bought by them at one of the youth auctions. I think I did more visiting with Wanda than I did cleaning which is what she bought me for. They always seemed like the most in love couple and I thought their children and grandchildren must be very lucky to have them as parents/grandparents.

We're just hanging out for the weekend. The weather is beautiful so we'll probably cook out tomorrow. I'm just trying to take it all in. :)

well, we got some better news about Rick yesterday. What they thought was cancer in his abdomen was not, there is cancer in his liver but they don't know how bad it is yet. He was awake and talking when Mark went in to see him.
