I have some new photos up... but, beware.. if you don't like bugs - don't go look.

I've been going thru Mother's clothes, picking out her nicest things, washing them, and packing for her. I don't think she has bought herself any new clothes in probably ten years or more. So, I went online and ordered her several new outfits and had them shipped directly to my brothers house.
She may not remember from moment to moment where it is we are getting her ready to go, but, she does remember that she is going somewhere.

This morning when I went up to help her get ready to go to the grocery store she had everything pulled out of all her drawers, folded, packed into bags, boxes, purses, anything she could stuff full. She had all her shoes out of the closet and packed into shoe boxes. Her house just looks crazy.. there are piles of folded "stuff" on every surface, all the beds, sofas, tables - everywhere you look she has stuff folded up (very, very neatly) and ready to go. She had all her napkins, kleenexes, rags - I mean everything.

I know it's not funny, but, she is funny to watch. It keeps her content so I just let her fold away. In fact I go up and mess them up sometimes so she will need to re-fold them.

and, I make sure she has plenty of ice cream.

You are a very kind, compassionate, and understanding caregiver.

Care-giver.

I hope that when most of my marbles are in a jar on the shelf someone is as tender with me as you are with her.

My great grandmother had alzheimers. She used to tell me every day that she was going to milk the cows. She hadn't milked cows in 40 years. She was funny too. She tried to eat lard like it was ice cream.
I agree with Cara. You are a great Care-giver.
