Poor Sethy...
He got up this morning at 6:00, his Dad took him to meet up with his youth group and they drove the 3 hour drive to Dallas to go to Six Flags. He has been looking forward to this day for months because he had never been to Six Flags because his Mom hates amusement parks, well, not just amusement parks, but, anywhere in general where there are huge crowds of people, much waiting in line, and overpriced, bad, food.
Anyway back to Seth.
They got there, rode one ride - his first roller coaster - and it started to rain and it rained and rained and rained. After hanging out for about four hours, hoping it would clear up, they gave up and started home.
He had fun being with his friends and at least he can say that he has been there, done that.
On the other hand, I was tickled pink when it clouded up here and began to rain (and cooled off about 15 degrees)
I guess my garden is about done. The standing water killed most of my plants and I don't what it did to my tomatoes but every time one starts to ripen - it rots instead. I think it some sort of tomato disease. :(
The squash plants have pretty much played out. We are still getting lots of cucumbers and starting to get enough okra to eat. It usually doesn't even make it to the house though because my favorite way to eat okra is raw, right off the stalk. I did cook some tonight.
I need to have some sand hauled in so it will have better drainage and it needs fertilizer. I don't use chemicals so I will have to find someone to haul me some poop.
I watched Jerry McGuire tonight. I hadn't seen it in a long time so I decided I wanted to see it again. Tom Cruise is not one of my favorites but I really, really like Renee Zellweger.
Ya'll seen anything good lately?

We loved the new Harry Potter
I have loved all the Harry Potters
That really sucks for Seth! He'll just have to go again. :)
I got motion sickness when we went there for our Senior trip. I ended up laying on a park bench praying that I didn't throw all that bad food up.
We watched Premonition last night. Not a good movie. Great idea for a movie if only they'd been able to pull it all together.
reallly??? oh I'm so bummed that Premonition wasn't good - it looked like it was going to be.
well, shoot
sorry to ruin it for you.
I watched Miss Potter last night. Slow, but decent, especially for Renee Z. fans out there. (I'm not a fan.)
So did they shut down the park due to the rain or certain rides? (It rains 10 months out of the year here nearly every day so I'm confused...)
Kristen, Yes they shut the whole park down and said they couldn't re-open the rides if there was a thunder storm showing on the radar within 20 miles.
Do you guys get lots of lightning with your rain like we do here?
Oh, I see. No, we hardly ever get lightning. The first time I actually saw a lightning bolt was in Texas; here it just flashes (lights on, lights off) off in the distance.
