This morning was a breakfast date with my husband. We left early, leaving sleeping kids sleeping.
The Farmer's Market was much busier today with about 10 vendors, all selling pretty much the same things. I bought some beautiful peppers, banana and bell, some onions, a basket of small tender yellow squash and forced myself past already dug and cleaned new potatoes.
Later, Seth and I dug a small bucket of our own new potatoes fresh out of the garden.
For supper tonight I used a little of everything and made a potato, egg, and cheese Frittata.
At first Seth was skeptical but wound up eating 3 helpings.

Today was the warmest day we've had this year, probably 95 degrees and so humid you could see it in the air, but, early this evening big black thunderclouds gathered in the south and the air began to rumble. Within a few minutes the temperature had dropped 10 or 15 degrees, it rained for about an hour, leaving everything smelling so fresh and wonderful. By then it was late enough that it didn't heat back up.

Emily's room is once again livable. I have 2/3 of the floor cleaned, painted, a new rug in place and all of her "stuff" back where it belongs. I have one section left to rip out carpet and fix. She's been a angel with all the upheaval, hasn't complained one time.

I bought her the cutest pair of "Red" sneakers by Marc Ecko, they are white with pink rhinestones, glittery laces, a charm bracelet that hangs on one shoe, and the Rhino logo pendant on the bottom of the tongue.

Hers are the pink ones and she has the charms.

Farmer's market sounds wonderful, the heat sounds absolutely dreadful.

I miss the occasional thunderstorm, we so rarely get weather like that here. I like that "silver-dirt" smell in the air.

I was going to go photograph Poochapalooza today, but it has been just solid steady rain. Miserable.

I can feel that day. See the clouds, the heat let up, the humidity sink in. My skin almost cries for it.
