I am home. We stayed in Shawnee Sunday and Monday, long enough to get the PA set up, make sure everything was working the way it is supposed to, visit with people we hadn't seen in a year and then we rushed back home to get busy. Busy, that is THE word that describes our life this time of year.

We have been doing sound for this church camp for about 8 or 9 years. Most of those years it has been held on a sleepy little college campus in Wilburton Oklahoma which is 50 miles from anything - you have to drive to McAlester which is 50 miles away just to find a Walmart. It is a beautiful place in the eastern Oklahoma hills.

They moved the camp this year to Shawnee. The campus is still sleepy and beautiful - St. Gregory's Abbey University (established in 1897). I didn't get much time to explore the campus, but we are planning on going next year for the entire week, so, I will get lots of time to explore and take pictures of the amazing architecture.

I was hoping to get to see my friend Erin and her new baby Samuel but we couldn't get our timing right - I was there Sunday and Monday, she was supposed to fly in Monday afternoon but I would have already been gone by then. I was going to go back today just to see her and meet Samuel, but, her flight got canceled and she decided to not make the trip since it seemed so ill fated.

I am in the middle of redoing Em's floor now. I am working in sections so as not to totally disrupt her life. I have, with Mark's help, about half of it finished, right now waiting on paint to dry so I can move furniture back into place and start on another section.

We are eating new potatoes out of my garden this week and have little tiny squash on the vine. I tilled up the last of the lettuces and radishes and planted green beans in their place. The tomato plants look beautiful but are still small, a few little green tomatoes on them. The okra and cucumbers are up and looking good. We haven't had much or rather any really hot weather this year which is wonderful but the tomatoes and okra don't grow unless it is hot.

Levi and I are working on getting the pastures all mowed. We do it twice a year to spread seed and keep the weeds under control. They are prettier this year than I have seen them in a long time. The native grasses are shoulder high. I drive slowly on my tractor through them as I mow taking the time to identify all the different grasses - Indian, Blue Stem, Little Blue Stem, Rye, Turkey Grass and more. There are lots of wild flowers this year, too, so many I couldn't name them all. I will leave sections of wild flowers to make the butterflies and good insects happy which makes the birds happy which makes me happy.

Just thought I would take the time this morning to let you know I'm still alive and kicking, just busy.

I missed you! Sorry it's so bussy. I'm sure things will slow down some once you finish Em's room. Did she have a nice birthday?
