I finished Tell Me a Riddle by Tillie Olsen today. It is a book of short stories, four of her most famous. I'm sure most of you have read it before - I seem to always be behind on my book list. The stories were beautifully written but I found them to be soooo depressing. The last one "Tell Me a Riddle" was the best and the worst, I enjoyed reading it the most but it was also the most depressing. It just left me feeling down the rest of the day.

I need to find something lighter to read next. I hope Dakota is a better read.

Well, the carpet is out. Mark and Seth took it out for me yesterday while I took Mother to the beauty shop. Then we all worked together cleaning and doing some patching. It has been drying all day, tomorrow I hope to get the floor primed and ready to paint on Monday.

The kids swam today, the water is too cold but they don't seem to mind too much.
It is so great to get to see Emily playing like a kid. In the pool she can do whatever she pleases. She is a mermaid, she can dance, she does flips, and can float better than anyone I've ever seen. She lays on her back, crosses her arms over her chest, and spews water out of her mouth like a whale, taunting her brother the whole time because he sinks like a rock.

We are off to the Farmer's Market in the morning, I hope they have more stuff this week, but, it is still really early in the year - maybe someone will be there with strawberries... oh, yum!

Dakota is not light, but it is a good read. Sorry, I'm so drawn to the depressing.
