ahhhh... summer mornings

I love to get up early in the summer to wander around in the yard. This morning I worked on the pool a little - a couple more steps and I should have it clean and balanced. It's still a little green and cloudy this morning but a good flocing and some more vacuuming and I should have it.
I had to do a little watering this morning. Two or three days without rain and things have to be watered. I sat on the porch drinking my coffee while watering my flowers, so delicious.

I'm feeling very green today. Mark and I got up early Saturday morning and went to the Farmer's Market together (left the kids sleeping). There were only a couple of vendors but I got a beautiful bag of fresh spinach, all cleaned and ready to eat, some new potatoes, onions, radishes, and broccoli. Then he and I went to breakfast together. On the way home we stopped and picked a couple of dozen farm fresh eggs from R & R Farms.
My garden looks good, the potatoes are blooming which means there will be small new potatoes soon. I've been picking radishes and fresh lettuce for weeks, everything is up and growing.
I have some bell pepper plants I need to get in the ground sometime today and a few more flower seeds. I'm having trouble finding okra seeds - so weird.

Well, I'm off to do a little school work so we can count it as a school day... let's see, does gardening count... sure it does.

Ah... serene and lovely.

I love farmer's markets. I gotta find one around here. We just have a humongous strawberry farm right now.

Almost time for our strawberry festival.

I can't see a strawberry without thinking of you.... you know that!

Even our "Please call 911" signs have strawberries on them in this town.
