What a trip

Okay - you should be proud of me - pat me on the back and tell me "oh, honey, you're so brave." HA!

Today was the next-to-last trip to the dentist for all the scheduled work we have been doing for a year and a half. We did the impressions for the crowns for my front two teeth. Having your front teeth worked on the worst. The two injections into the gum right below your nose hurts like hell and then the one into the roof of your mouth.. oh, my, gawd. When your doctor says "Now this one is really going to hurt." you know you are in trouble. And, since it has only been less than a month since we did the first of the work on my front teeth, I had vivid memories of the pain.
In fact, as I gripped the chair like I was fixing to be electrocuted the Doc says ... "Oh, I see you remember how much this one hurts."

Well, yes, Doctor Dear, I do remember.

I've been sick at my stomach for two days. I threw up this morning in anticipation of my visit.

What the hell?? I keep telling myself that I am just being silly. For God's sake I've birthed FOUR kids, two of them at home with no help from anyone but Mark.
That's a combined time of about 40 HOURS of labor, intense non-stop, bone crunching pain.

And, I get sick over the two minutes it takes for him to inject me with poison before I'm so numb I can't talk??

What a freaking baby.

But, now the deed is done. I only have to go back once more to have the permanent crowns put on (no injections)and for bi-annual cleanings.

THANK GOD.

Way to go A! I'm a big baby when it comes to the dentist too.

You are so not a baby. I'd rather give birth.

Dental pain is the worst.

There is no epidural for dental pain.

Dentists have a very high depression rate because they are one of the most hated and feared professionals working with the general public.

I am glad you are done.

Now, rent "The Osbournes" and watch Ozzy's visit to the dentist. You will laugh yourself ill.

"uuuhhhh, NITROUS!...UHHHHhhhh!"

I would rather go to the gynecologist every day than the dentist twice a year. My eyes actually watered as I was reading your post.

I agree with Jennifer. Oooh, and I want to hear more about your birthing experiences! Especially the at-home ones. Amazing!
