The first thing the video preacher did today was ask for money and not just a one time thing but sign the commitment card provided and give and give and give some more because you know that is Biblical for you to support his trips around the world.
So, I pretty much didn't hear another thing he had to say but Levi and I decided the video thing made it nice for making fun of him because he couldn't see us.
My thoughts strayed to PeaceBang and what would she say about this congregation??
Two ladies in the front row, maybe mother and daughter, aged late twenties and early forties, both with the same horrible gothic haircut and color (jet black) and gothic make-up.
One row behind them are two other ladies both bleach blondes. I know one of from the studio, she's one of those moms who live their lives thru their pretty teenage daughter putting her in every beauty pageant, pushing her to sing, act, dance and trying her best to get her into Hollywood... pathetic. Actually, she doesn't look too bad - nice haircut, casually dressed. The other one though is probably close to my age and has long straight bleached hair, massive amounts of make-up, low rider jeans, sunglasses perched on her head and just looks totally inappropriate.
But, I do have to give it up for Ms. Patty (Em's teacher). She is just a beautiful woman, beautiful haircut and make-up and she had on the prettiest color of orange today with nice slacks. The color just made her glow.
And, Cally the young youth pastor who is 8 months pregnant and just as cute as she can be in her maternity clothes - actual maternity wear. I really don't like the new trend of pregnant young women who wear tight shirts stretched over their bulging bellies.
Not that I always agree with Peace Bang but she does know style and I am seeing more and more where being appropriately dressed in clean, nice fitting clothes makes a big difference in how not only other people perceive you but how you perceive yourself.
And, so, what did you do in Church today??

I love this!
LOL
I am reminded of a time when my ex husband (very overweight) and me (morbidly obese) were standing in line at something.
We saw two 'freakshow style' bodybuilder couple at the same instant they saw us.
We both "OMG!" At the same instant.
I bet that's what the goth's vs blondes did.
Requests for money usualy cause my ears to close as well.
If nothing else, you'll have fun giving imaginary style advice to the congregants though I do hope you'll find more there than that.
I like the tight maternity wear. I'm not sure why.
I love that fruitcake TV preacher (I have NO idea what his name is) he is continually asking for money and then he 'speaks in tongues'
It always sounds like this to me
"Ah wontchah giveme allyour moneyah and RAMALAMADINGDONG!"
Cara - you crack me up!!
I've often wondered if they actually teach those Pentacostal preachers that (the way they talk) in seminary.
And they wonder why people make fun of them????
