I'm doing research this morning on mattresses.
Emily's mattress is only 3 years old but it is breaking down and she has to have a good mattress because of her hips.
Did I ever tell you that I used to manage a furniture store? The store I worked in was a water bed store that was an outlet store for the bigger, higher end furniture store across the street that my sister managed (she was an interior designer), but, we also sold regular mattresses. At that time I knew all there was to know about mattresses but things have changed, big time, in 25 years!
I am going to buy her a Serta, because I think they are the best mattress made, but I'm undecided between the new Perfect Day mattress or the foam (memory foam vs. latex foam). I'm hoping that when I actually go to buy the mattress I find a knowledgeable sales person to talk with.
Good mattresses are expensive so I want to get the most for our money.
Are you particular about your bed? What kind of mattress do you sleep on?

I have no idea. I know I could use a new one. :)
Hey A - I researched these last year, when my 16 year old grew to 6'1" and I needed to replace his single mattress. Here is what i found out: mattresses are full of chemicals, as are the memory foam mattresses, in fact chemicals is what they are made of. I ended up with a all-natural latex foam mattress, and hope to replace all of the others with the same as soon as I need new ones, or can spare the cost. They are expensive.
And by the way, I love reading about your yard work. We are not quite ready to plant here yet, but I am living in the soil vicariously through you. Thanks.
Anj, I've been leaning towards the latex foam - thanks for the info, it helps and yes, they are expensive!
A I'm an old hippy and have to have a waterbed, when I get off a regular matteress it takes a while for me to stand up straight, I know that is not the kind she could ever get out of, with my shoulders as they are it is a little harder on me, but I sleep like a baby.
Richard, I love waterbeds, they are so comfy and warm in the winter time but having our room up in the loft... just wouldn't work.
