Actually, church was not bad this morning. I dreaded the getting up early or rather I dreaded having to get Emily up more than anything. I don't mind waking up early, it's just the doing anything or going anywhere part that I don't like. But, this morning both the kids woke easily and weren't grumpy because they were excited about going to church.

We are going to H2O because that is where Seth wanted to go. We can go to most churches in our area and know people and be comfortable there - mostly because of our work in the music business and the fact that we've been in the local church scene for 25 years and Ada is a small town.
We know a lot of people that go to H2O and that makes it easy. There was NO pressure or expectations from anyone. I mean, we went in, hung out a while, talked to a few people, there was a short (very short - 3 songs)worship time, we watched the video taped message (which I think is stupid - not the message itself but the whole video church thing), a couple of more songs and we were done. Altogether pretty painless and it made Seth and Em both happy. A couple of guys are already talking to Seth about drumming on the youth praise team.

I did my best to not pick at the message but tried to listen for what I could agree with. He spoke on fasting. My favorite line was when he said you might could fast from your home group one night and go serve someone ... it isn't all about church, it's about loving one another, serving one another.

Back to school tomorrow. We have 8 weeks left before summer break. This school year has just flown by. I already have his work load planned for next year. He will be in High School next year which means much more work for both of us. I have to keep really good records for his high school transcript.

Right now what I need is a good 10 hours of sleep.

video church...that's different.

I went to a church in Florida for a while that had a sliding glass door/balcony and the pastor would open that up and walk out there to continue his sermon for all the people who drove in and were listening in on their radios.

Diffrent strokes.

We went to a church that was so big we had to sit in an overflow room and watch the video monitor. I didn't stay very long. I figured I could just as easily watch from my tv at home in my pj's.
I would go if Erin wanted to. She mentions church sometimes, but not very often. She did like my grandma's church.
I like the comment about fasting from home group. I guess we've all been on a church fast. :)

I am glad you had a nice time! I love our church. It is big but does not fit the typical church mold I grew up with. Yesterday our pastor was dressed like a Roman Centerion and told about his "experience " with Jesus. He was depicting the centerion that said, "truly this is the Son of God...." It was good and of course kept everyones attention.
