I heard Emily shuffling around downstairs at about six this morning. I tried to ignore her but then in a few minutes the Mom kicked in and I had to get up and go see why in the world she was awake at that gawd-awful hour. By then she had gotten back into bed and was just sitting there. I asked her if she had just woke up and she told me "no, couldn't sleep" so I think (who knows what Ms. Em does in the middle of the night?)she might have been sitting there in her bed since I put her to bed at 2am. I told her to lay down and I would snuggle her (oh, she is so soft and warm and snuggly); she was sleeping in about 2 seconds.
I went back to bed (about 6:30 by then) and was just getting relaxed enough to drop off to sleep when I hear the dreaded sound (once again)of crunching metal and breaking glass... jumped up out of bed, grabbed my robe and out the door. Levi was coming out of his house at the same time. We walked up to the road together, there were a couple of kids in a black mustang (a moment of deja vu) pulled off to the side of the road. They were okay, she had called her Dad to come. It tore up the car pretty bad, from the looks of her it scared to poopy out of her.
So much for sleep. I made a pot of coffee. By then everyone was up, the kids (Levi, Christi and Seth) went out to play in the snow.
Levi had already called in to work to tell them he wasn't coming but it wasn't long until his boss called him and said he would come pick him up - helluva guy, huh?
Levi was so pissed.
The roads were fairly clear by mid afternoon but were wet and now are refreezing.
I know this stuff is old hat to all you Northerners but I'm still like Ms. Em....
when she did get up at 2:30 this afternoon and looked out the bathroom window...
she groaned "Snow... oh, no... hate it."

I know what you mean...it's fun for about two minutes, or when you can stay out of it, but if you have to drive in it...yuck.
I still think it's pretty though.
Me too, Em!
It may be yucky but there is something to be said for at least having a real change of season.
Sandy - yeah, and I will be glad when it changes :)
