Started my day with an early morning walk with the puppies. I do that every other day. Seth is supposed to do it on my off days, but, usually doesn't make it to pen before 9:00 or 10:00.
It was beautiful this morning, the air is fresh and clean, the woods are quiet and bare, the puppies are good puppies. I discovered this morning that although we are not sure what kind of dogs they are, they definitely are not hunting dogs.
Towards the end of our walk, headed back for the pen and breakfast, they usually run as fast as they can ahead of me to beat me to the pen. This morning as they were doing that, headed back to the pen they ran right over the top of a rabbit scrunched down in the grass ... and they never even knew it. The rabbit popped up after they went over and froze in place, expecting them to come back. When they didn't, the rabbit shot across the trail and into the woods on the other side. Puppies never knew he was there.
Everyone here has been talking about the "big ice storm that is coming". It has been almost 60 degrees all week, sunshine and beautiful weather. We are hardly even having to use heaters at night.
I took Mother to the grocery store on Wednesday and all the little old people were busy stocking up because "it's really supposed to get bad". This was Wednesday.
Mark said every where he went on Monday (on his route) that is all anyone was talking about ....
I get to thinking that I must be the crazy one.. I keep looking at the weather channel, which says... yes, it is going to be cold this weekend but not below freezing until Sunday night and then it is predicted to be back up in the 40's by Monday afternoon.
What is wrong with these people.
I think they should have to go live in Montana for a winter and then they will never complain about an Oklahoma winter again.
Boy, did I make an ass out of myself today at Blockbuster. I won't go into detail for fear of incriminating myself further but I got mad, and stomped, and accused, and threatened the poor guy who was working only to come home and find out (if you read the very fine print) that he was right and I was wrong.
I refuse to ever tell him that though - they should have made it plainer. Ha!
