I'm thinking I better get my blogging done now, because if the power goes out, no more blogging for me for a while. I will be jonesing...
The wood stove in the living room has been cleaned out and readied to start a fire, the wood box is full and so is the wheelbarrow sitting outside the window closest to the stove.
The flashlight and lanterns have new batteries and are close at hand. Candles and matches where they can be reached.
A huge pot of chicken noodle soup is in progress.
Faucets outside have been re-covered with insulation.
The puppies have been given an old blanket to keep in their doghouse.
A friend called from New York to see how we were faring. No ice here yet. Maybe it will pass us by.
I really don't care what it does... after Levi and Christi get home tonight.
The last major ice storm we had Charlie and Melissa and her 3 kids, us and our 3 kids all "camped out" together in our living room for the 3 days we were without electricity. I cooked on the gas heating stove, we played board games by candle light. The boys had poker tournaments that lasted days. Emily played Barbies endlessly without complaining a bit about no TV. It was actually a lot of fun, but, after 3 days of it everyone was getting cabin fever pretty bad so we hooked up the TV to the generator in the bus and watched movies a while.
We do have a brand new generator that we may have to break out this weekend.
And, yes, I apologize to all the silly people I made fun of for being such doomsday sayers over the impending disaster :)
Please, say a little prayer for people who will have to drive in this... because Okies don't drive on ice.

Stay safe, friend!
My little sister gave birth in the OK ice storm!
I hope you all are ok. The storm looked absolutely dreadful.
