DAMN
It is so freaking hard to watch as your son (or daughter) gets their heart broken.
DAMN
You probably saw on facebook about Seth getting displaced as drummer. Well, the really bad part about it is that the guy that took his place was the drummer he replaced but who has decided to come back and yet that is not the worst part....
His new crush is a really pretty 19 year old, I know who she is and know a little of her family but don't know any of them well. They were in the same homeschool group we were. Big family, religious, traditional... etc., etc.
I asked Seth enough questions about her that I already knew what was going to happen. She is 19, finished with high school (home schooled) she is not going to college and had no plans of a career. So... what do you think she is looking for... yep... a husband. And Seth is not husband material, yet.
Anyway... come to find out, she and the drummer boy that left were an item before he left and while he was gone she was just playing Seth and now that drummer boy is back she wouldn't even acknowledge Seth this morning.
Stupid little girls and their stupid little games.
DAMN
She wasn't good enough for him anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry he has to got through this crap. :(
I think it's a right of passage that everyone has to get their heart ripped out of their chest, stomped on with cleats, boiled then baked in the sun by some tool.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't make it suck any less, but we seem to share this bond.
I hated going through it, and I hate knowing its coming. I'm sure watching it happen to your son is almost as bad as going through it yourself.
Give Seth a big hug from Aunt Cara.
* update
ReplyDeleteSeth went to his worship leader and they got the drumming thing all worked out. Seth will be playing the early service (as usual) Chance will doing the college service and "drummer boy" isn't staying.
And, thank goodness there wasn't a lot of emotional connection to the crush and Seth has already picked him out a new woman and seems to be fine.
Ah, the life of a Mom with teens.
I am too damn old for this kind of drama.
So glad the drum situation is worked out, and that Seth was able to move on too a new love. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a daily routine for Erin so I guess I'm a little more used to it.
Sandra - evidently, if this be the case, I don't pray for you enough!!
ReplyDeleteI really try to just stay out of these scenario's with Seth but this one really fired me up.
Sorry for the drama
Oh man, the teenage angst...not looking forward to it! I feel like I just left that myself...
ReplyDeleteGlad things worked out okay for Seth.
I'm exhausted just reading about it.
ReplyDeleteOne of my 'sayings' is there's nothing more useless than a teenage girl.
I still stand by that, knowing that I love and respect my teenage girl aquaintences.
Plus, I heard somewhere that having teenagers is punishment for being one.
